HB124 1st Reading House County and Municipal Government Sorrell Would prohibit the use of automated enforcement systems and would repeal all local laws authorizing the use of automated traffic enforcement for red light or speeding violations

HB210 1st Reading House Transportation, Utilities and Infrastructure Hanes Would propose an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama to prohibit any toll from being fixed, charged, or collected for the construction, renovation, or use of a public road, bridge, tunnel, or interstate jighway, unless approved by a vote of the qualified electors in the county where the tolled project will be constructed, renovated, or used
HB244 3rd Reading House State Government Wood (R) Would provide a licensed motor vehicle wholesale auction the ability to purchase up to 25 auction transit license plates to transport vehicles to and from auction in lieu of temporary 7 day auction transit plates. Would also require a licensed motor vehicle wholesale auction to obtain a supplemental license for each additional location and would require the purchase of blanket motor vehicle liability insurance coverage on vehicles by the auction
HB247 1st Reading House Urban and Rural Development Shedd Would increase the examination fee for an original driver’s license/permit from $5 to $10 and would increase the fee for a copy of a person’s driving record from $5.75 to $15

HB279 2nd Reading House Public Safety and Homeland Security Pettus Would prohibit a nonresident from operating a motor vehicle in the State of Alabama unless the nonresident maintains insurance requirements of the state in which the vehicle is registered
HB284 2nd Reading House Judiciary Shaver Would provide that if a person is convicted of boating under the influence, the person’s boating license and driver’s license will be suspended and if a person is convicted of driving under the influence, a person’s driver’s license and boating license will be suspended
HB305 1st Reading House Public Safety and Homeland Security Coleman Would require county and municipal police departments and the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency to adopt written policies to prohibit racial profiling; would require the adoption of formas to be used for statistics of traffic stops; and would provide for the reporting and collection of data on injuries to state and local law enforcement officers
HB316 Enacted House Jefferson County Legislation Treadway Would provide that in Class 1 municipalities, in addition to law enforcement officers, parking enforcement officers and traffic enforcement officers who are not required to be certified by the Alabama Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission may cause a motor vehicle to be towed under certain conditions
HB328 1st Reading House Public Safety and Homeland Security Sells Would prohibit the use of a photographic speeding enforcement system or automated speed enforcement system within a reduced speed school zone while the school for which the school zone is designated is not in session
HB356 1st Reading House Public Safety and Homeland Security Sorrell Would prohibit individuals from transporting cats or dogs in a flatbed truck while traveling on a public highway. Subject to exceptions.
HB361 1st Reading House Public Safety and Homeland Security Lovvorn Would further provide for the operation of automated commercial motor vehicles and commercial motor vehicles with teleoperation systems. Would also require routes that a vehicle uses to be approved by ALDOT
HB383 2nd Reading House Public Safety and Homeland Security Greer Would further provide for violations in construction speed zones to include all moving violations committed in the zone while workers are present
HB409 2nd Reading House County and Municipal Government McMillan Would prohibit a public works contract or subcontract for roads and bridges from containing a provision requiring a party to indemnify another entity for damages caused by the conduct of the other party
HB410 1st Reading House Public Safety and Homeland Security Faulkner Would expand the reduced speed school zone to every public and private school in the state
